” The feedback that you provide to me about my patients and their progress is by far the best I have ever received. It’s timely, it’s succinct and it’s helpful. I also appreciate how you keep us informed on the things that are significant in their recovery process. I have been very pleased with Health Care Plus and so are my patients.”

The Open House at the Polaris Physical Therapy clinic was a real success with over 70 guests in attendenance.  The theme for the Open House was a jazz and blues  accompanied by live music, great food and drink.

“A big thank you to everyone that worked to make this Open House a success,” states Cynthia Bowersock-Thiel, Senior Vice President of The Marden Companies. “As usual, everyone pulled together to make this happen. From making the food to arranging furniture and hanging curtains, the staff made it happen,” Thiel continues. (more…)

Health Care Plus’ Ethics Course a Big Hit [02-02-10]

Filed under: Around Marden — Editor @ 1:44 pm

Health Care Plus, Home Care Assistance and the Dublin Retirement Community hosted a CEU course last week for social workers and nurses. The course topic was “Ethics and Health Care”. The course met the three-hour CEU course requirement for Social Workers to renew their license. It was also approved for nurses.

“The turn out for the event was overwhelming. We had over 40 people RSVP. We had to turn some people away since the room would only hold 30 people,” stated Marty Steen Home Care Consultant for Health Care Plus. “We plan on hosting another one of these sessions since we were not able to take everyone at the first one,” Steen continued. Punxsutawney Phil Predicts 6 More Weeks of Winter [02-02-10]

Filed under: Around Marden — Editor @ 10:07 am

Does Phil feel lucky?  Unfortunately not.

Bad news today from the world’s most famous weatherman, Punxsutawney Phil, who emerged to see his shadow, forecasting another six weeks of winter.  German tradition holds that if a hibernating animal sees its shadow on Feb. 2  — winter will last another six weeks. If no shadow is seen, legend says spring will come early.  On Gobbler’s Knob (2 miles east of Punxsutawney) this morning,  the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club annually announced the sad news.  Punxsutawney is in the heart of Marden’s eastern operations, so no break for our staff until March, according to Phil.

You may remember Groundhog Day (the movie and one of our favorites).  The location for most of the shooting of the film was not actually Punxsutawney but rather Woodstock, Illinois.  Some of the film was also shot in Indiana, Pennsylvania with aerial shots also being filmed in Pittsburgh.
