Health Care Plus’ Ethics Course a Big Hit [02-02-10]

Health Care Plus, Home Care Assistance and the Dublin Retirement Community hosted a CEU course last week for social workers and nurses. The course topic was “Ethics and Health Care”. The course met the three-hour CEU course requirement for Social Workers to renew their license. It was also approved for nurses.

“The turn out for the event was overwhelming. We had over 40 people RSVP. We had to turn some people away since the room would only hold 30 people,” stated Marty Steen Home Care Consultant for Health Care Plus. “We plan on hosting another one of these sessions since we were not able to take everyone at the first one,” Steen continued.

“The facility, the refreshments and the speaker were all terrific,” stated Molly one of the social workers that attended the event.

Home Care Assistance and Health Care Plus work very closely together to meet the needs of patients in the home. “They provide services that we don’t and visa versa,” stated Angela Thompson RN and Executive Director of Health Care Plus. “This is exactly the kind of relationship that we look to build in all of our communities,” Thompson continued.

Dublin Retirement was the site for this course offering. “The facilities were ideal and the staff is very easy to work with. It was nice too because they were able to show off their building to the referral sources that they work with all of the time too,” Thompson stated.
